Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden
The Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden is located in Chiangmai, Thailand, within the lush mountains of Doi Pui-Suthap. The property of the garden covers over seven miles (yes, that's correct - miles), and features collections of rare and endangered species of native flora.
The garden was opened in 1992. Today it features 4 exhibitions and 8 glass houses. These include a rain forest plant collection, cacti collection, and aquatic plant collection.
For those of you who like to hike, there are a large number of trails on the property that lead through the forest. Most take one to two hours to hike.
The garden is open daily from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

i would love the rain forest--always inviting posts
ReplyDeleteI think rainforest gardens are really pretty. There are a couple in Ohio that I've visited. I just love the waterfalls!
DeleteI can't get over the prettiness of the garden. And that first picture looks so otherworldly to me. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe glass houses give it a different look. I don't think I've ever heard of a garden with so many glass houses on the property.
DeleteTropical gardens are so pretty. Have you been here personally? Such a vast one, I'd love to go someday!

No, I have not personally visited this garden. I've visited many of the gardens I've featured in this challenge, but it's kind of hard to visit every one for every single letter in the alphabet! Somebody suggested I organize a tour. Maybe if I have a little spare time! LOL.
Deleteooh thats a wonderful idea! I'd love to go for one!
DeleteI've enjoyed this month of lovely a to z gardens. Haven't commented everytime, but truly enjoying the journey. Thanks as always for visiting wordsplash. Actually I go to tons of movies - I'm writing reviews for my aunt's paper and she lives 4 hours away in San Saba - the town with no cinema. But movies come on cable or netflix so fast it doesn't matter.
ReplyDeletelooking forward to more gardens. thanks
Very neat. I've never been in one of those glass house gardens. Would love to one day! Love that garden waterfall.

Love your theme idea for the A-Z challenge.... I LOVVVVE gardening... :O)
ReplyDeleteWow, seven miles of gardens. You could spend several days there and not see everything. It looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe moss reminds me of when I was a kid and my parents took us to Florida. We went to Bush Gardens.
