Plants for Fall Flower Gardens

By now your summer flowers are probably beginning to fade.  Are you looking to add a little color to your garden for the fall season?  Of course mums and asters (pictured above) are obvious choices.  But there are more.  Here's a few to think about.

Cimifuga is a late blooming perennial with fern like foilage that is ideal for a shade garden.

The Japanese anemone has pretty pink or white flowers.  It prefers light shade.

Golden Rod has tiny yellow flowers.  It prefers full sun.

Sedum grows in clumps.  It's flowers are shades of red and pink.

Black eyed Susan is a pretty daisy-like flower that is ideal for full sun.

Of course you can also use ornamental grasses and shrubs for contrast with your flowers.  As you can see, just because the long, warm days of summer are over, it doesn't have to mean that your gardens have to stop looking pretty.

Today's IWSG question is, "Since authors have to disclose if they use AI in their writing, do you think authors should also disclose that they've used a ghost writer?" Well, yes. If they haven't exactly written something with their own writing skills, then they should give credit by saying a ghost writer was used. If writers have to disclose that they had assistance from AI, then they should also disclose that they had help from another human. What do you think about this?

Now, if only I could grow any of that...

  3. Our golden rod is currently blooming but it is not in a good shape as we are still suffering drought. Cimifuga is such a cute flower. What is the point of ghost writer being a GHOST writer if he will be revealed? LOL

  4. My anemones are going crazy right now. We took out a tree in our front yard, and they are loving the extra water this year. :) I used to have sedum and black-eyed Susans, but my raspberries have taken over in that plot. I need to plant some more next year.
