The Ernest Hemingway Museum Gardens are located in Key West, Florida. These are the gardens which surround the Spanish colonial home where famous writer, Ernest Hemingway wrote most of his novels. There are many lush, tropical plants on the grounds. But the most interesting thing, in my opinion, are the cats. They are descendants from the fifty cats Hemingway used to have. Many of them are six-toed poly dactyl cats. And they are everywhere!
The cost of admission for adults, which includes a guided tour, is $13.00. The cost for children, is $6.00. The gardens are open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
I know some authors who would really want to visit those gardens!
ReplyDeleteIt's cool to be in a place where such a famous author lived and worked!
Deletevisiting Key West is on the bucket list. (That and a Jane Austen tour of England). Back to Ernest - quite a writer, quite a life. The gardens look lush, and I"m thinking that's a word that applies to him in several ways. Hmm.
ReplyDeleteYes. Ernest was quite an interesting character!
DeleteI've been to Key West and have visited the Hemingway House. We didn't go on a separate tour of the gardens, but we did walk about the house and the gardens on a self guided tour. It's a fantastic place, with many exotic flora. Great one to highlight, Sherry!
ReplyDeleteDid you see some of the cats? They were in the house, too.
DeleteThough I haven't been there, I can't imagine there's anything more interesting there than poly dactyl cats who descended from Ernest Hermingway's feline collection. That's so randomly cool.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend, Sherry.
It is pretty interesting to see that. I'm very interested in genetics, so I found it to be fascinating.
DeleteHi Sherry - it must be an amazing house and garden to visit ... many memories of him ... then those special cats ... as Robyn says randomly cool!
ReplyDeleteCheers Hilary
Haha! Yes. Randomly cool!
Deletehave never been to KW
ReplyDeleteReally? You seriously need to visit! The SCUBA diving is pretty good there, too.
