Ravine State Gardens

Ravine State Gardens is a 59 acre park located in Palatka, Florida.  It's listed on the National Registry of Historic places. The comes from the ravine that was created there by the flow of water from the St. John's River thousands of years ago.  In 1933, it was transformed into a garden by the federal Worlds Progress administration.   About five acres of the property are formal gardens with stone terraces and water features.  The best time to see it is from late January to April, when the azaleas are in bloom.

The gardens are open daily from 8:00 AM to sundown.  Cost of admission is $5.00 per vehicle.

  1. Oh man! I used to live not far from Palatka (in St. Augustine), and I never knew about this! Wish I would have visited it before I migrated back north!

  6. Looks beautiful from what little we see here :) Sounds like a good time of year weather-wise, too (for me anyway). I have never visited Florida, but I intend to someday!
