Kentucky Floral Clock
If you are ever in Frankfort, Kentucky, you have to check out this floral clock! It's located on the State Capitol grounds. It was dedicated in 1961, and was a joint project of the Commonwealth and Garden Club of Kentucky.
Here are some fascinating facts about it: over 10,000 plants are used to decorate the face. The planter is 34 feet in diameter and weighs 200,000 pounds! The minute hand is 20 1/2 feet long and weighs 530 pounds, while the hour hand is 15 1/2 feet long and weighs 420 pounds!
There is no cost to see it.
