Community Rose Garden, located in Shaker Heights, Ohio, next to the Woodbury School, is a little-known gem in the Cleveland area. Created in the 1920s, it is maintained by a group of volunteers. It contains 1,000 rose bushes. The roses are organized by color and type. Dark red ones are in the south part of the garden, pink are in the center, and yellow and white are in the north part. Most of the roses are labeled, so that if you find a favorite that you'd like to grow at home, you know what it is. The garden is open daily from dawn to dusk. Admission is free. The best time to visit is in early June, when the roses are in full bloom.
It sounds lovely! There is a Rose garden in Regents Park in London and it's so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have seen that garden in Regents Park. It is lovely!
Deleteoh what a glorious sounding place----i hope there are rose gardens in heaven!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Wouldn't it smell just divine!
DeleteI would love to go visit all of these gardens you feature on your blog :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday you will see all of them. Better get started!
DeleteI love this one. The Rose Garden in the town my little ones were born in always called out a photographer, or a bride and groom, or an elderly group practicing Tai Chi. So serene.
ReplyDeleteRoses are my favorite flowers. It sounds like it is a lovely garden.
