The Missouri Botanical Garden, located in St. Louis, Missouri, was founded in 1859 by Henry Shaw, a botanist and philanthropist. It covers 79 acres and features many different gardens, including a 14 acre Japanese garden, a geodesic dome called the Climatron that houses a tropical rain forest, a hedge maze, a Biblical maze featuring plants from the bible, and a butterfly garden.
There is also a lovely children's garden which includes a pioneer village, playground, and fountain area.
The garden is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is $8.00.
how fascinating--i would be so interested in the bible plants garden and i love butterflies--i have a butterfly bush, that really does attract them--thanks!

DeleteRecently we were forced to explore the beauties of Missouri through a State Report for my little ones, myself-foolishly thinking that this state might lack-was quite surprised. The children's garden is gorgeous, I'll have share it with my children. The Gate Way Arch led them to a project on Lewis and Clark. Very exciting state!
